These days we are taking part in a music two-years-long Erasmus + project called Together to Enjoy, Join to Learn. The main aim of this projct is to create a big international choir and orchestra, rehearse together and play special concerts two times a year in partners ́ countries. We found out that music is a really effective way to connect people from the whole Europe and that it encourages people to communicate in foreign languages and improve their social and cultural skills. Because we are a music and foreign languages oriented school, we really want to take part in another music Erasmus + project in the upcoming shool year and that ́s why we would like to create a new project called Playing for Chance. The key people in charge of running the project are expected to be Jan Jiterský, the headmaster and music teacher, Matěj Čejchan, the english and music teacher, and a few other music and language teachers from our school. All of them have a previous experience with leading or being a part of foreign projects. In this moment, there are 4 music teachers at our school and many other teachers interested in being involved in an Erasmus + project, so, in the case of leaving one of the key people mentioned above, there are more people, who are able to take over their roles

Regarding issues related to musical education, in our school our students starts music classes at the age of three. They have music as a compulsory subject until 13 years old, grade 8. Besides the compulsory curriculum, our students, from 6 to 18, can have classes in our music academy, where they learn an instrument, musical theory and also have a combo class. It is a privileged area due to its proximity to the sea but also because it is near Mata dos Medos, a forest characterized by a wide biodiversity of plants and trees within the Paisagem Protegida da Arriba Fóssil da Costa de Caparica, a fossil cliff and protected landscape that frames the beautiful beaches from the region.

My country

With its mild and temperate climate, Portugal joins a wide coastline to its picturesque countryside filled with mountains, forests and typical small villages.
